Slow Go at Russell Creek
Decided to stop in Plano and fish Russell Creek’s pond. Normally see a lot of Bluegill in their beds this time of year. Unfortunately, it was tough to tell as the water was murky from the recent rains.
Did work different areas fishing a Gold Ribbed Hares Ear Nymph under a Strike Indicator. Had some light nibbles but no solid hook ups.
Switched to a San Juan Worm and started getting more strikes. Kept missing them until we dropped to a smaller size San Juan Worm. Afterwards, started getting consistent hook ups.
Did leave them biting as we had to call the trip short.
Still lots of fun!
