Little Ridge for Kayak Trolling

Planned to kayak fish Tickey Creek this morning but switched to Little Ridge. While getting water for the fishing trip at a convenience store, learned from another kayak fisherman that Little Ridge’s boat ramp was open and White Bass were in the area.

Started out slow with windy conditions and rough water to make things interesting. Then, started getting a fish or two using the Sabiki Rig for White Bass. Stayed with the Slab this time since we were trolling the rig instead of surf casting it like earlier this week.

Action picked up with multi-hook ups while trolling; also, did some sight casting at passing schools. All were undersized White Bass but did get a Yellow Bass to put on the stringer.

Then, headed to the Power Plant and anchored outside of the restricted area. Caught a number of undersized White Bass and Largemouth Bass. And then hooked into a 15″ White Bass!

Fun stuff, great workout, and two keepers this round!

PS: Do be aware of the restricted area by the Power Plant.
